Job Description:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design, review and implementation of procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. In this role, you will assess and determine manufacturing feasibility, determine and develop requirements, as well as project manage the manufacturing process from end-to-end.     WHAT YOU WILL DOAssess and determine manufacturing feasibility
    • Provide manufacturing feasibility assessments for capacity requirements, product design, engineering changes, scope changes and quality concerns
      Determine and develop requirements
      • Develop process flow and line layout requirements
      • Develop and implement effective work instruction
      • Define capital equipment and tooling required and maintain adherence to the budget of the program
      • Assess the product, process, equipment, and tooling strategies for potential ergonomic concerns and manage action items to resolve
        Project manage and support the implementation
        • Project manage the procurement and acceptance of required equipment & tooling
        • Project manage the manufacturing requirements of the product development and launch processes
        • Facilitate the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility and any corresponding technical training
        • Support customer part needs through pilot, testing, run-at-rate and internal process sign off

          WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THIS ROLE Ideal Experience
          • Experience in a production-based environment in the automotive industry; agriculture and defense are a plus
          • Prior experience with vehicle connectivity, connected autonomous vehicles and/or electric vehicles
          • Engineering experience with production assembly tooling, low volume production manufacturing and assembly
          • Bachelor's degree in engineering - manufacturing, welding, and /or assembly processes
          • Experienced with performing time studies and workflow analysis
          • Basic understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 processes and procedures
          • Solid MS Office experience, with specific ability to create project plans
          • Working understanding of 3D CAD principles and software

            You may also bring:

              • Interpret engineering design documents, including prints, CAD, and BOM to create:
              • Process Flow Diagrams to communicate the production intent
              • Create Work Instruction documents to assist operators with assembly tasks
              • Operation-specific MBOMs for consumption by a Manufacturing Execution System

                Location The individual for this role is not expected to be in the office every day and therefore a portion of the work can be conducted remotely. Frequency of time spent at our headquarters in Port Huron, Michigan will be mutually agreed upon while ensuring we are achieving a world class level of performance. Some travel in the Southeast Michigan area is expected.
