Athletics and Student Support Manager TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time CLASSIFICATION: Career Plan Annual Salary: $45,000-$46,000 based on skills, qualifications, and experience FLSA STATUS: Salary/Non-exempt HOURS: Average 37.5 hours per week. JOB SUMMARY: The Athletics and Student Support Manager leads the Skippers Athletics website/social media channels and works collaboratively with coaches, staff, and faculty to help student-athletes succeed at SC4 and beyond. The positions responsibilities include the creation and maintenance of engaging web/social media content, supporting coaches with the recruitment of new students, leading the planning and delivery of all athletics camps, and developing relationships with high school and middle school personnel to secure participation in games and tournaments held at SC4. The manager will also create outreach strategies to connect with Skippers Alumni and serve as the leader for sponsorships and fundraising activities to support Skippers Athletics. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the Skippers Athletics website and social media channels, creating engaging content and continually monitoring and updating to ensure accuracy and relevancy of information.
  • Serve as an academic liaison for all SC4 student-athletes, working in partnership with coaches, faculty, and staff to promote student retention, success, and completion.
  • Monitor the academic progress of all student-athletes each semester, in collaboration with coaches, connecting them with any necessary support services to boost overall success and ensure students are prepared for opportunities to play at the next level.
  • Establish connections and build strong relationships with high school and middle school personnel throughout Southeast Michigan and beyond to participate in games and tournaments held at SC4.
  • Direct all athletics camps including the scheduling, development of pricing and registration processes in collaboration with the Business Office, promotion and working with coaches to ensure the delivery of a collegiate quality camp experience.
  • Assist coaches with recruitment strategies for attracting new students and regularly monitor the status of all rosters to maximize the number of student-athletes participating each season.
  • Create a comprehensive Skippers Alumni plan including the development of a database of contact and career information along with a strategy to re-connect at least annually with former student-athletes.
  • Lead the Skippers Hall of Fame induction ceremony and write Skippers Alumni success stories to share via the web/social media.
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive plan for Athletic Advancement including sponsorships, alumni support, and fundraising events, such as the Annual Golf Outing, to raise money for Skippers Athletics.
  • Assist with game & facility management duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position reports to the Director of Athletics SUPERVISION GIVEN: None. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in sports administration, business, or related field required. Master's degree in sports administration or related field preferred. Minimum one-year athletics work experience, participation as a collegiate student-athlete or coach and understanding of NJCAA rules and regulations preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
