Job Description:
This role will be supporting flex pool and virtual nurses. Needs
to be very mobile. Will be visiting all sites. Will be at
Southfield office 1-2 days per week. Progressive and ICU experience
PREFERRED. Scope of Work The Nursing Professional Development (NPD)
Specialist uses the tools, theories, skills and knowledge of the
specialty to improve the healthcare practice of nursing and allied
staff. The NPD Generalist uses expertise in education and
professional development practices, the NPD Generalist (NPD-G)
functions in collaboration with staff, leadership, faculty and
researchers to develop, implement and evaluate professional
development programs that influence professional role competence,
continuous learning and growth. Promote synergistic practices and
patient outcomes throughout the organization, and advances and
leads NPD practice based on the Beaumont Health Nursing
Professional Practice Model and in accordance with Association
Nursing Professional Development Scope and Standards of
Professional Nursing Development Practice. - Uses a systematic
approach, analyzes issues, forecast trends and supporting data to
determine the learning needs of individuals, service lines, and
organizations. Using data gathered; validates, prioritizes and
documents evidence of professional practice gaps and outcomes in a
manner that facilitates the educational planning process. -
Collects data systematically and purposefully from a variety of
sources including direct observation of nursing practice, nurses
and the multidisciplinary team, professional organizations,
regulatory agencies, consumers, healthcare experts, health related
trends, key stakeholders, and legislative venues. - Uses relevant
evidence, theory, research, innovative processes and practical
experience to design, implement and evaluate high quality,
culturally sensitive, and frequently complex educational
activities, programs, or projects for staff at all stages of their
career development based on identified knowledge and practice gaps.
Analyzes cost and anticipated return on investment for learning
activities, programs or projects. - Engages stakeholders and
resources in the planning and implementation of lifelong learning
activities for individuals and/or groups of learners. Measures
program outcomes in terms of learning change, impact and
professional role competency and revises future outcomes based on
trends, evidence, and changes in stakeholder expectations. -
Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices in
collaboration with others to ensure that nursing and the
organization's goals and mission are in alignment. Develops and
applies appropriate measurement tools in quality improvement
activities. Qualifications - Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred Master's Degree - 3 years of relevant experience 3-5
years clinical experience Required. - Progressive and ICU
experience Preferred - previous teaching experience. Preferred -
Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required -
Board Cert Nursing Professional Development (BC-NPD) - ANCC
American Nurses Credentialing Center preferred - Basic Life Support
Instructor (BLS INSTR) - AHA American Heart Association preferred
