Job Description Job Description Harbor is seeking a Medical
Assistant to join our Toledo team! This position is responsible for
patient care under the direction of medical leadership, and/or a
licensed health care professional. Position is full-time, 40 hours
per week. Education/Experience/Other Requirements : Completion of a
Medical Assistant program through an accredited college or
university. Previous experience in Mental Health preferred. Must be
CMA or RMA test eligible. CMA or RMA prior to employment preferred.
Must be able to perform clinical and clerical duties as needed.
Electronic Medical Records experience preferred. Must demonstrate
excellent customer service skills and a strong commitment towards
achieving customer/patient satisfaction. Must be proficient and
accurate in data entry and be able to navigate through Microsoft
Windows based applications. Must be able to communicate clearly and
effectively with a variety of people and be a team player. When
applicable, non-licensed staff will be required to complete 20
hours of CEUs every 24 months. BLS and NCI/CPI Certifications
required within 90 days of employment. Essential Job
Competencies/Primary Duties: Assists provider with patient care.
Provides Patient/Family education. Assist patients with medication
prescriptions and testing procedures as directed by providers. May
assume responsibilities of determining and responding to the needs
of patients and visitors when they contact the practice either by
phone or in person. May be required to fill in for front desk staff
if needed. Answers and/or triages patient phone calls. Coordinates
scheduling of patients' appointments. Assists clinical staff and/or
providers as needed. Provides quality and timely support to both
internal and external customers and strives for customer
satisfaction. Documents in a clear, efficient, and effective
manner, in conjunction with leadership and Harbor guidelines.
Attends meetings as appropriate and serves on office committees as
assigned. Keeps current with trends and developments related to
essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth. In
providing billable services, fulfills or exceeds unit expectations
established by Harbor. May float to other locations to accommodate
client or agency need. Additional Community Psychiatric Supportive
Treatment services may include: Documentation Responsible for the
quality and completeness of the clinical record. Develops and
updates Individualized Service Plan (ISP) for each client.
Responsible for accurate and timely documentation which may include
but is not limited to: activity/progress notes, ISPs, DPS logs,
incident report forms and any other forms necessary to document
services. Provides Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment
service activities: Evaluation Assesses client needs and formulates
a strength-based ISP in conjunction with the client, family and/or
significant others. Evaluates and revises the ISP according to the
client’s responses and needs. Crisis prevention/intervention
Follows crisis prevention/intervention protocols. Ongoing
interventions Provides support, education and consultation to
clients, families, and/or significant others. Provides therapeutic
interventions as noted in the ISP to maintain the client in the
least-restrictive environment and to enhance client and family
functioning. Monitors clients to identify and minimize effects of
psychiatric symptoms. Provides education on self-management of
symptoms to client, families, and/or significant others.
Collaboration Assists the client and family in increasing social
support skills and networks. Coordinates indicated evaluations and
assessments by internal and/or external providers. Coordinates and
monitors all services identified in the ISP. Provides assistance in
gaining access to essential community resources. About Harbor: A
