Roles & Responsibilities Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy and patient care following physician orders and hospital policies Perform therapeutic and diagnostic pulmonary and cardiovascular procedures to support patient recovery Evaluate patient response to therapy and adjust treatment or escalate concerns as needed Manage ventilators, BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment safely and effectively Perform ABG analysis and use results to guide clinical interventions Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on respiratory equipment Provide patient and staff education on procedures, equipment operation, and safety precautions Document clinical care accurately in the medical record and communicate clearly with the care team Qualifications Active RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) with 2 years of RRT experience (required) Current Michigan state respiratory license (active at time of submission) NBRC credential required and BLS required ACLS preferred Demonstrated experience with ventilator management, BiPAP, ICU and ER settings, and ABG interpretation Ability to complete employer onboarding, background checks, and credentialing in a timely manner Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort using Cerner EMR Education Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program (Associate degree or equivalent) Knowledge & Skills Ventilator management and ventilator weaning strategies BiPAP and noninvasive ventilation expertise ABG analysis and interpretation Therapeutic and diagnostic pulmonary procedures Equipment maintenance, safety checks, and troubleshooting Patient and staff education techniques Clinical documentation and interdisciplinary communication Critical care and emergency respiratory interventions Benefits Supportive team that values YOU and your clinical judgment Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep your credentials current Paid time off so you can recharge between shifts Travel reimbursement and help with onboarding logistics for travelers Comprehensive training and clinical support in a busy surgical/critical care environment Opportunities for professional growth and continuing education Flexible scheduling and potential for assignment extensions A workplace culture that prizes safety, innovation, and great patient outcomes Travel Perks: Explore Lansing, MI Explore Lansing while on assignment: stroll the scenic Lansing River Trail, visit Michigan State University’s vibrant campus and the MSU Broad Museum, enjoy family-friendly time at Potter Park Zoo and Impression 5 Science Center, and discover Old Town Lansing’s shops, restaurants, and breweries.
