Title: Night Shift Supervisor

Reports To: Plant Manager





Summary: This position is responsible for supervising layout, build and assembly of mechanical components used on Tools and Systems. Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination, installation, modification, disassembly and repairs of all systems and related assemblies of varying design or complexity. Will coordinate the activities of mechanical assembly Builders, Electricians, Pipefitters and Contractors for system level assembly. This is a safety critical position and includes responsibility for all mechanical activities to ensure maintenance plans and activities are executed in a safe and efficient manner.



Responsibilities:

• Lead employees through effective communication, orientation, coaching, training, and development. Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of employees. Recommend hiring, salary adjustments, transfers, discipline, promotions and dismissals in consultation with Human Resources.
  
• Day to day supervision and coordination of assembly activities for all equipment
  
• Day to day supervision of employees and contractors
  
• Manage accurate time reporting activities through the Paslin ERP System and monitor and instruct employees on correct procedures
  
• Participates in all "Whiteboard Line Up" meetings to coordinate first shift to second shift
  
• Serves as specialist on the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment
  
• Leads efforts in diagnosing system malfunctions and prescribes repairs or changes in work and design practices
  
• Ensure tasks are executed in the most effective manner in regards to time, cost and function
  
• Reviews with personnel when problems are complex or may lead to extended downtime or high costs
  
• Plans and coordinates work in accordance with work requirements utilizing drawings and manuals
  
• Directs installation, adjustment and repair work
  
• Reports equipment and required documentation changes in line with company procedures
  
• Champions company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and practices good housekeeping
  
• Ensures equipment is maintained in accordance with its hazardous area classifications
  
• Documents and addresses behavior or work performance issues
  
• Assists Plant Manager in conducting mid-year and end of year employee evaluations
  
• Maintains security throughout plant during second shift
  
• Secures and activates alarm system when closing facility
  
• Perform all other duties, as assigned
  
  
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  
  
• 5+ years proven experience in leading / managing mechanical tasks for machine tool assembly teams
  
• Basic knowledge in electrical and pneumatic installation preferred, but not required
  
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and successfully layout equipment according to prints
  
• Team player, able to give / take direction and be self-directed when needed
  
• Owns own tools to perform tasks as required
  
• High regard for safety standards
  
• Knowledge of welding and automated assembly
  
• Knowledge of Mechanical Standards, tooling assembly & setup,
  
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  
• Strong written and oral communication skills
  
  
  
  
  Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and be present on the plant floor or customer facility. Must have the ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters
  
  
  
  Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
  
  
  
  Travel: This position requires minimal out of town and overnight travel.
