Job Description Job Description Job Title: Transportation & Tort Litigation Attorney Location: Detroit, MI OR Bloomfield Hills, MI Plunket Cooney, one of the largest and most accomplished law firms in the Midwest, is looking to add a Transportation Litigation Attorney to their dynamic team. We are looking for a motivated legal professional to join a collaborative team with a strong reputation for excellence, while also building their own practice in a supportive and well-established environment. The ideal candidate will be a versatile, client-focused attorney with a proven ability to handle complex litigation matters. This role offers significant client contact and the opportunity to work on a wide range of challenging cases in both state and federal courts. To be considered, a candidate must have: 4 years plus of litigation experience, preferably in defense matters, transportation law and litigation practice including PIP and SIU experience. Proficiency in the independent handling of litigation files such as commercial auto, PIP fraud investigations, premises liability, general negligence, property damage, construction and/or personal injury related. Experience handling Michigan no-fault, third party & commercial auto liability and network transportation claims. Courtroom experience in Michigan state and/or federal courts. Knowledge of and experience with local rules and court procedures. Excellent research, legal brief writing and communication skills. Experience in all aspects of litigation, including, drafting pleadings, taking depositions, and arguing motions. A strong commitment to professional excellence and ongoing development. A demonstrated ability and desire to grow a client base and expand existing relationships. Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities. A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Admission to the Michigan Bar in good standing. We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer, who has demonstrated an ability to compete and prosper in highly competitive and complex environments with significant client contact.
