Position Summary: Plans, organizes, and directs medically
prescribed music therapy activities designed to positively
influence patients' psychological or behavioral status. Plans,
organizes, and provides music therapy that creates a caring and
therapeutic environment, addresses the needs of patients, and
positively impacts the patients' health status, feelings of
wellness, and/or quality of life. Works in an interdisciplinary
environment consistent with professional practices and ethical

1. Identifies the patient's goals and needs; provides and documents
quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and
findings; determines music therapy treatment plans in consultation
with physicians, family members and other members of the
2. Provides quality, personalized and evidence-based therapy and
proven interventions; designs music therapy experiences to meet
client's goals or objectives.
3. Implements music activities that facilitate non-musical goals
(e.g., sensory stimulation, memory recall, positive failure, free
experiences, socialization, etc.).
Bachelors degree in music therapy.
Credentialed as Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC).
One year experience in music therapy.
Masters degree in music therapy.
Prior experience in medical field, preferably hospice or palliative
