WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO OUR CUSTOMERS AND OUR SUCCESS Our reputation for excellent quality, selection, and knowledgeable butchers is a cornerstone of the shopping experience at Country Style Marketplace.The Meat Cutter assistant works closely with the butchers to ensure a high quality of meat products and how they are displayed in the meat countercase is maintained. They are a key part of the daily operation of the meat counter and food preparation and are expected to maintain a clean, safe, and visually appealing department and ensure customer satisfaction with their purchase and experience at the counter. They will follow instructions and training provided by the Meat Department Butchers or Lead on how to cut, prepare and display meat products. The right candidate brings an interest in basic butcher skills including knife skills, knowledge of cuts of meat, and knowledge of food safety requirements. As the Meat Cutter Assistant, you will maintain a clean and organized meat department and will be responsible for cleaning the meat coolers, the back storage areas, and store closing cleaning procedures as well as maintaining a visually appealing and good selection of products in the food case throughout the day. As with all of our associates, a willingness to be a great team member and a desire to interact with customers often is essential. This position has rotating days and hours to meet the needs of various departments and operational needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS ROLE Receive, inspect, and store products upon delivery, to ensure product quality. Develop a high level of expertise on all products. Provide Superior Customer Service. Maintain food safety standards within the department. Responsibility to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness for the meat cutting room Prepare various food items for customers and gourmet counters. Ensure the department and equipment are maintained in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures
