SEMCO Energy - Regulatory Analyst

Under direct supervision, the Regulatory Analyst will conduct case research, compile, analyze and maintain data, perform assessments, make recommendations and develop presentations. The Regulatory Analyst will assist witnesses throughout regulatory proceedings and potentially serve as a case witness. Additionally, this position will support Gas Cost Recovery (GCR) and Gas Customer Choice activities as needed.

You Will
--- Perform case research, compile and analyze related data through the use of computer software, models and databases as required.
--- Present research materials and reports, development of recommendations, monitoring, and revision as necessary.
--- Stay current on local regulatory trends within the State of Michigan and nationally as well as keep up to date on relevant Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) activity.
--- Analyze FERC rate case filings to determine the impact on the Company and support FERC case intervention efforts.
--- Conduct regulatory outlook analysis and/or support Finance in pursuit of the same.
--- Assist case witnesses in the preparation of case exhibits and discovery responses, including compiling historical data and researching past cases.
--- Support propane supply planning and forecasting.
--- Provide ongoing support for GCR activities including but not limited to functions associated with capacity release and daily gas supply processes.
--- Provide ongoing support and backup for GCC program activities.
--- Investigate and report supply cuts and pipeline supply notices.
--- Performs analysis and recommends long-term gas purchasing strategies.

You Have
--- Bachelor's Degree
--- 3+ Years of gas supply industry, regulatory, or similar experience required
--- Excellent analytical and statistical analysis skills with the ability to evaluate data using statistical analysis tools, compile statistics and prepare reports, graphs, tables, and charts.
--- Excellent organizational, analytical, and judgment skills with the ability to accurately and confidentially process and maintain data.
--- Ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks with changing requirements while meeting commitments.
--- Ability to define problems, collect data and recommend solutions.

In addition to our standard benefits package, the estimated base salary for this role will range from $63,500 - $79,500, depending on experience.
